Its not a download, but if you go to trendmicro.com and run "housecall", it will identify and clean for free. Depending on your speed, it may take awhile so plan accordingly. Its not one of those that say yeah you have problems - buy me and I'll fix them.

Ihave to fully agree with the others answering this question. AVG or Avast. I personally like AVG better, but I think you should give them a try and decide which you like better for yourself.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope

Yeah, do the Grisoft? AVG thing. They now have free anti-spyware and anti rootkit progs too. The spyware one seems pretty good so far, too.

Avast and Zone Alarm are currently the best free security programs presently. You were correct to notice that AVG is not that good. Too many think is great but it's ranking for protection is fairly poor.
